About Me

I have been writing in a journal every since I was able to write.  My mom would tell me to get ready for bed and write in my journal about my day.  I would literally write about what I did, how I felt, and even drew a picture.  I love to look back at my old journals and see how I progressed with my writing.
I grew up in Berwyn with my family.  I have three older bothers who I love dearly.  Growing up with the three of them taught me a lot.  They still inspire me today to be an independent woman and to stay positive. My sister-in-laws are wonderful as well.  They are awesome mothers and bring even more love and laughter into our family.  My parents are so very special to me.  They have always been supporting and encouraging me to stay strong and work hard.  My mom is the most loving and caring individual I know.  As I get older, I appreciate her more and more each day.

                                               MY FAMILY

I went to Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL to become a special education teacher.  I loved Charleston and met great friends and learned a great amount of teaching strategies within the special education field.  I will never forget my favorite teacher, Mrs. Johnson!  She really taught me how to write an IEP by drill and practice.

Now I am a teacher in Berwyn.  Yep, I am still in Berwyn!  I teach there but live in Forest Park, IL.  I absolutely love to teach and have wonderful mentors!  I even still have my past teachers that are now my colleagues!

My 7th/8th grade teacher Mrs. Nimmer and my principal, Sue Butler

Some other people that make me happy are my best friends!  I have had them ever since middle school and high school!  While I went away to college, they stayed back and had beautiful children that I have been close to since they were born!  Here is Alexis, Jackie, and Rocky!  Their awesome kids:  Layla, Noah, Kaleena, Jonathon, and Delilah!
