I love 31

Today I am promoting the company 31!  It's amazing!  Treat yourself and those around you to a bag, a purse, a wallet, or much more!  C'mon who doesn't love bags?  If not bags, then organization!  I know I do!  For those teachers out there....have you checked it out?

My cousins Kara and Jenny are 31 Queens and have brought me much happiness in my home, at work, and on the go!  Love ya!

The website is:  http://www.thirtyonegifts.com/

If you are wondering....what can I use this for?  Check out pinterest and search some ideas.  Type in the product name and you have so many ideas to choose from!  I have an example below for the "Oh Snap Bin"

I am going to start an online party soon and have a running list of items that I want for home and school!  I will start out with Fold N' File.  I have so many ways to use this at school...gotta keep track of the student's needs!

How about to hold a station for shared pens, pencils, tape, scissors, stapler...etc all the good stuff?

Any questions?  Thoughts on what I use?

Sunday Fun-day

There are many things that I can write about...but why can't I get typing?  I feel like a writer in the movies.  They show the person on a blank page and start typing words and then they erase all of them and then they get up and seem so frustrated.
I haven't gotten up yet and walked away frustrated, but I am going to stay and write about my friends in my life.  They are so unique in their own ways which make it perfect to have each one of them in my life the way I want them.  You know, the one you go to for love, the one you go to for advice, the one you talk about work stuff...and so on.  So here is a dedication to my friends and their wonderfulness.

it's not those who are there when you need them. it's who has been there the entire time

Rocky-  I met Rocky in 7th grade and we've been friends since.  She was always the different kind of friend that made me learn new experiences in life.  She taught me how to be spontaneous and live in the moment.  We can talk for hours on the phone about anything and laugh about the most ridiculous things.  We share everything that goes on in our life and at times we might not know what to say to each other besides, "I am sorry, that stinks you are going through that."  Usually that is just enough to know that we have each other's support.  Rocky is smart, carefree, and thoughtful.  She has always remembered certain aspects of my life that I would never think she would.  Love you Rocky.

How do you know you've found your best friend? When you are ready to talk to them about anything even though they know everything about you already.

Alexis-  I met her in high school and became friends right away.  We sang, "Complicated" by Avril Lavigne word for word during a sleep over.  We knew right after that that we were meant for each other.  Yes, Avril did that.  Alexis has always been the "mom" of the group.  She always remembers to bring something, an alternative route to take, or the best place to go to for dancing.  When I am with her, she can just finish my thoughts and sentences.  Her maternal instinct has brought her wonderful daughters into this world and I am grateful for them.  I am a godmother to her oldest, Kaleena and she is the light of my life.  She is so kind and just like her mother.  Alexis and I can quote so many movies, watch ANY movie and keep watching all day long.  She has been like a sister to me.  Love you Alexis.
and like a favorite old movie, sometimes the sameness in a friend is what you like the most about her

Jackie-  I met Jackie in middle school but became friends with her in high school.  Cheerleading is what brought us together.  We created dances, cheers, and team building activities throughout our high school years.  Hours and hours of laughing and sharing our ideas is what our relationship looks like.  She has had me do many fun things and like Rocky, she is very spontaneous as well.   Jackie is the one who forgets everything and is late to almost any event, but she makes the effort to let me know she loves me.  She is the most surprising kind of friend that I have.  Once I think I know everything, something new comes along and I'm like, "What the heck, where did that come from?"  Like when she started playing the harmonica.  hahaha!  Jackie is "just jackie"  Love you lady!
You'll always be my best friend, you know too much.

Jenny-  I met Jenny in high school.  Cheerleading was a big part of our life.  She was a year younger and Jackie and I scooped her up and brought her along everywhere we went.  She has the best laugh and the most outgoing personality.  We are two peas in a pod and have had some distance between us over the years because of school and work, but we always picked up where we left off.  That's why she is so special to me.  She can always turn my day around with a smile and glass of wine.  She has the most energy to do anything.  I am inspired by her determination and commitment to be successful in life.  She always gives 100%.  Love you Jenny!
We might be laughing a bit too loud.
I'm sorry.
It's just that we're best friends
and we can't help it.

it's just something that happens as you grow up. you realize it's less important to have more friends and it's more important to have real ones

What day is it? Wednesday?

As you may know already I am at my lake house enjoying the quiet.  It's not always quiet, but I have had some time to blog and even browse other blogs.  I sometimes wake up and don't know what day of the week it is.  I am trying to not look at my phone too much, but come on, let's be real.

So, It's Wednesday and....

I just had to put this picture in.  This movie is great.  I have seen t-shirts with this quote on them.  I don't know why it took so long to get them out in the stores.  Anyway......as I sit on the back screened-in porch with my yogurt and blueberries, I would like to share some of my other favorite movies and do a random fun blog today.

My one all time favorite is the Wizard of Oz.  I have collected so many books, posters, collectable items, and even those beautiful plates you hang throughout my childhood.  Once in a while, a friend or my mom gets a great find and gives it to my for my birthday.  I found this funny picture the other day.  I do like Dorothy but I love the Wicked witch.

I obviously love musicals!  Grease was a movie I watched over and over again without really getting what was happening.  When I got older I said to my mom, "You let me watch this?"  Those Summmmmmmer Niiiiiiiiights!

The there are those darker movies that have a little of everything.  Love, culture, family, and some life lessons to live by.  A Bronx Tale is one of my favorites.  I have always loved the quote below.  He tells him before he goes on his first date...

And last but not least a funny and witty comedy about two girls who lie up and down just to make themselves feel better at their high school reunion.  Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion.  I love Lisa Kudrow.  "Okay"

What are your favorite flicks?

Guilty Pleasures

I have linked up with The Craft of Teaching.  Sharing my guilty pleasures seems fun and easy to do as a morning blog.  I am still up at the lake house, enjoying every minute of it.  I have had some me time but also enough family time as well.  Some guilty pleasures that I will admit are

Eating things I shouldn't

You know how it is to be on vacation, right?  Snacks, sweets, and big meals are everywhere!  Left and right people are saying, "Try this!"  So, besides the new chicken dip that I tried yesterday there have been sweet stuff that I am not so proud that I ate....but it happens.

Now since I am away from most of my family and friends, I am checking my phone way too much.  I am honestly on Facebook more here than I am at home.  I am posting, sharing, commenting, and liking posts.  My service here is just mediocre, so I am like double checking that things get sent.

Last but not least but I am keeping to myself a little too much.  It may seem like I am ignoring others at times, but I just want to be quiet and chill with my own thoughts.  This quote explains it all

What are your guilty pleasures?

What I'm doing on a rainy day...

These rainy days are getting old.  Don't get me wrong, I love to relax but the rain just makes me want to do nothing. I want to read, blog, and watch a movie. I just finished reading Dark Places by Gillian Flynn.  Next I am onto Rabbit Run by John Updike.  I have owned this book since high school.  I was supposed to read it in a lit book club but I wasn't a great partner and didn't read it.  I even was told by my teacher to read it and write a paper but I used the Internet to help....please don't judge.  So, now I feel that I owe it to my students and myself to finally read and finish it.

Currently I am at my lake house in Gobles, Michigan with my mom.  It's so nice to be here and know I don't have to do too much. How many people can say they can do that?  I am so grateful to have this house full of memories, family around, the beach, and much more.  My mom has come up here since she was a little girl and being with her now makes her more than happy and blessed.  We get to share so much time and laugh about things we never thought we could.

Sunday

Hello all!  It's a beautiful Sunday and I am excited to continue to rest, read, and blog!  Sundays should be for some R&R.  I am linking up with Mary Keegan  because according to her that is what Sundays are for!  Her blog has amazing pictures of her in Florida and sharing what she is up to.

A FUN SATURDAY leads to a LAZY SUNDAY
I will first share what I did yesterday because it was a lot of fun.  My nephew, Michael, turned three on June 9th and his "firefighter" themed party was full of love and laughter.  It was very hot and humid out yesterday.  This is why the kids have pink rosy cheeks.  Here are some fun pics to check out.

SUNDAY PLANS
-Blog
-Finish TV show
-Buy some songs on iTunes
-Read
-Catch up with friends on the phone

Check out Florence and the Machine's album or listen to your music app on your iphone and go to iTunes Weekly top 50 and listen for free!  It's good stuff!

PLANS FOR THE WEEK....
Leaving for the lake house with mom on Monday night!  Yay!  Can't wait to get back to my cousins and the beach!  I will continue to blog while I am away and even share some possible antiques I find while shopping.

What are you doing to rest on Sunday?

Summer Begins

Soooo I gotta be better at this blogging thing!  It should be a daily commitment of mine to share what I want to do and what I'm doing. I guess it's just hard since it seems that there isn't an audience.

Hopefully that changes this summer.......

I am currently living on my own right now and I am decorating. Therefore, I am on Pinterest more often than ever.  I am looking to make it cozy in my living room. I'm in between a wall of picture frames or some floating shelves. Which do you think I should choose?

I also have a list of books I wish to read this summer:
1.  I am Malala
2.  Dark places
3.  Refresh on Holes and Stargirl for my ELA classes

That's all for now
P.S.
Thanks Brezek for always being there no matter if it's through a text or in the blogosphere. I love ya. http://bigtimeliteracy.blogspot.comhttp://bigtimeliteracy.blogspot.com
